hello everyone,
I just received my Hamann style front lip for my e60 and really would like to paint it in a way where the front shape of the m5 bumper is still noticable. if i paint the whole splitter the same color as the car i feel the lines of the front bumper will lose its figure so to speak, and just look like a rounded off bumper..however i really love the aggressive look to the bumper without any lip.
i was thinking about using this idea for my lip..
Watch this video and stop it at exactly 1:06 and check out that sick red e39.
where the red is on that lip, i would use that idea and paint the silver gray color to match and do the rest black.
what do you think? ricey? or maybe its been done on an e60 and there are pics?? i'd also be interested in checking out a silver gray (A08) with a black hm splitter.
i am going to paint it tomorrow so input is greatly appreciated!
if there are pics, please point me towards them!
thanks for your time,
Bill

i went for it, i painted it the two tone, silvergray and black. the two teeth that line up with the m tec fins are black along with a fine line that trims the bottom line of the bumper.
i will post pics in the next few days when i get time!
clear coat is being done in the morning, and the tape will be peeled off in the am to. if i dont like it, i will just re do it. for now, its something different

This is a Hamann lip that i got gutsy and modified. As you see it is a different color. I like it a lot more than just being the same color of the car. I think a splitter should stand out.
