I just picked this intake setup up from my buddy SUPER cheap. (Brand new in the box.)

Does anyone have any experience with this brand?

Thanks in advance,
Alan

I'm sorry, but there is a reason you got it cheap. You get what you pay for...the AFE "cold" intake is everything else but cold. Expect to lose a significant amount HP. The AFE intake sucks in hot air.....everyone on this forum basically hates it...

Alan:

I strongly suggest that you go to the search function here and type in "AFE". You will soon find thead after thread after thread from members denouncing the AFE "hot" air intake as the worst mod our members tried.

Many respected members bought it, reported big power losses and then removed it.

If you want power from your intake, buy the RPI ram air kit which has the RPI ram air scoop and a terrific replacement air filter. Stick with the OEM air intake or get the Dinan one which I hve never read of power losses from (Dinan claims a power gain).

If you want to go slow, go AFE "hot" air intake.

sadly, as a vendor, i would have to agree with this forum, INJEN intakes are the best quality in terms of HP gains and longevity. so far from all the boards i am on, nothing but bad reviews for AFE intakes

even the INJEN intake on the N54 engine proved to decrease performance...the design is still the same, an open cone....

Go back to the "buddy" of yours and ask for a refund.
