Red. Make sure you get the RPI decal. It really looks cool and stands out behind the grille. I've seen people staring at mine and wonder what it is exactly.

For the 535i and xi there is only one air filter so yes only one scoop in necessary

For 545i, you can do this and have 2 scoops. See post #19 for photos.

I wouldn't mind having a red (or BMW blue) RPI logo on my black scoop. Do they make those? I went with black to go with my other mods, but a logo lurking behind the grille might be subtle enough.

yes correct, for non-M e60s, 2 scoops are functional for the V8s with Dinan intake, or a custom setup like the link member theXman posted above.

BTW, scoops in stock

I like the black scoops. If you had one installed on each side, then maybe red would be okay. Having one red one looks distracting to me and takes away from the look of the car. You have a beautiful car and your eyes are drawn to this odd red thing behind the grill. That's just not what I want people to be looking at on my car.

Non-M cars have only one so choosing the scoops black keeps the car looking symmetrical
