With the sun finally coming out again, I am feeling inspired to start working on some of my mod plans. One of them is to have the rear windows tinted. To maintain the OEM look of my car, I want to have the same tint as the factory option "761 - BMW Individual Sun Protection glass". I have found a tinter to do the work, I just need to know what to order!
Does anyone know what percentage tint this option is?? (I am guessing around 45%
)
Here is an example of the BMW Individual Sun Protection glass option and the look I am in the process of putting together:

thanks for the quick reply guys
I went and looked at some different examples of tints on a tinting website, I think you're right about the 35% tint, that looks very similar.

Late reply, but still
The individual tintes glass covers 7 windows, however, the two front windows are less tinted than the rear and back windows.
Does anyone know what percent the front windows have?

I just phoned up the tinter and made an appointment to have the rear windows tinted on my E60 550i next week
When I said that I wanted 35% tint, to look like the OEM option, he strongly recommended I go for 20% instead.
My previous E61 Touring had 17% and that was dark! See below:

I think the very strong contrast between front and rear windows worked well on the Touring, because there was so much glass to tint at the rear, but on the E60 I think a slightly more subtle / less contrasting tint would be better, i.e. 35%. See the example I found below (not my car, but it will look like this very soon!):

35% on rear windows for less contrast to the front windows and in line with my overall OEM look, or 20% for strong contrast and almost black rear windows -- what do you think??
