Cool. Did you have to pull the headlamps out to install them?

I got a set from Bimmian a few weeks ago for $110 Canadian, but haven't installed them yet. I took a quick look and I didn't think I'd be able to get them in without pulling the whole headlamp assembly out, and haven't had the time to do it yet.

I just unscrewed the plastic cap and used the provided tool to squeeze the led prongs together and it fit perfectly in original h8 hole.

Here's a side by side pic. MTEC V2 on passenger side. WeissLicht on driver side.

I played around with the camera's aperture setting so that the halos won't flare out so much.

I can't get anywhere near enough with my fingers to unscrew the cap for the halo ring bulbs. The access hole at the back in mine ('06 530i) is so small I can barely change the H7 bulb for my DRL/Passing lights let alone reach the halo ring bulb further below. I just noticed on the box it says the kit is specific to the 04-06 e60. Is yours a later year, and maybe easier to access? In this pic you can barely see part of the copper back of the halo bulb assembly located below the big flat plastic tab for the DRL/Passing bulb. With the DRL bulb pulled out, I can barely touch the halo assembly let alone try to twist it out.

What kind of tool were you provided with? My Weisslicht's didn't come with any kind of tool. This is what I got.

+1...and even with that, still had hard time installing the Vtec, especially when trying to tighten it.

Actually, it's the opposite. The halos are actually dimmer when low beams are on. You probably think it's brighter at night because... well, it's night time.

He has LCI, it's different. You can tell by the headlights, H8, and his sig.

Is this kit compatible with the basic halogen headlights? I intended to get the MTEC V2, but after reading they're not compatible, I'm abit lost.

If not, does anyone know of a kit that will enhance the angel eyes in halogen headlights?
