BMW complaint department not going to help you.
You have electrical water pump. $1600 is little too much. I pay 1300 water pump and thermostat.

You're out of warranty and out of luck. Take the car to an independent shop. There's no need to pay for the BMW logo on a water pump that BMW buys from Pierburg.
