I'm gonna paint mine blue, but it depends on how you want it to look. Red is definitely a nice color for calipers, but with your car color, I'd recommend bronze, yellow or orange. But you know, this is my opinion - doesn't mean that you have to agree, do what you like, man

If you're going black (and that's what I did) any high temp paint will do fine. IMHO, No need to buy a 'branded' auto product! Check out the hardware section of any store for stove / barbecue spray paint.

That said, as with any print work, PREPARATION is key to success. Be sure to degrease and wire-brush/sand the surfaces to be painted or it'll fail in 30 days!

go black, cause they will get dirty anyways and our brakes are nothing special, they are pretty small and with red they will stand out. If you have brembo brakes then go for the red. just my 2 cents

I just did mine gray. I'll post up pics if interested.

I used Dupli Color engine paint with ceramic- 500 degrees. I've used the brand on other cars over the years and it's always held up great on caliper applications.

I think the DupliColor brush on paint is the best. It's very thick and sets up really smooth and covers great. It's relly easy to put on because it's so thick - not as much dripping or masking, and it cross links when it dries so it's harder than regular paint. I did mine 3 years ago, regularly pressure wash them and tehy still look great.

I prefer the blue because it lloks awesome on against the roundels but your car so your color.

It's not rocket science, just make sure it's crystal clean (lots of spray brake cleaner) and for god's sake remove the clips and paint them silver and DO NOT PAINT the backing plates on the pads.

IMO this is the best mod out there for ANY car. It should be illegal to let your calipers rust!

+1
It doesn't take much effort to pull off the clips, pads, calipers, and caliper brackets. I keep seeing people on here that just slap paint on everything, which in my opinion looks bad.
Masking was easy...just masked the bleed screws, and the brake line where it screws to the caliper, then just masked off the wheel well with masking paper from the hardware store.

I did what you did, but I painted my calipers/ brackets gloss gray, and the clips flat black

Grey does look great too- especially against all the different metal/silver colors in the area. The other thing I forgot to mention is that the 550's rotors are two pieces, and the aluminum hub is riveted to the cast rotor rings- so I cleaned and wirebrushed that area and then clear coated it. It still looks great after all thsi time- so take the time to detail your rotor hubs even if it's black or grey/silver paint. They too will get rusty and ratty looking and it only takes another 20 minutes a corner.

Just use some cleaner( I simply cant remember what kind) and a wire brush and get in there good, then paint 2 at a time on one side. It doesnt take long, and I used Dupli Color givin to me by brabus. I would go with black as well, any other color and your going to have to clean them as well to have them looking good as new. Just my 5 cents. Good luck either way

Go gloss black. It looks cleaner.
I was thinking of going red but those rear calipers are tiny and I didn't feel liking adding one more thing to me "to clean" list.
