nav-tv.com says 5 series coming soon. Navwithtv.com has it, the price is $499 (US) -- no discounts available. I just ordered one myself.

Reading some other threads, I thought video on the iDrive screens weren't possible. Or is it that only available for screens for NAV... I don't have NAV

If it is possible to use the screen to watch shows, should be able to route a/v from a dvd player.

The navwithtv.com (not nav-tv.com) unit plugs directly into the lcd and bypasses the I-drive video signal. You get a remote and it works like a video switcher so you can choose to see the idrive screen or another video input. There is another guy on the board that installed it and has hooked up a full computer to his car. BTW it doesn't matter whether you have Nav or not.

But will it void the factory warranty?

Who would we need to get to install it? Since it plugs into the back of the iDrive... certainly the dealer would frown upon this...

The guys at navwithtv.com swear it will not void the warranty. It does not cut into any wires as it is plug and play. Adding this device is no different than adding a CD changer, I believe any aftermarket car stereo shop should be able to do it. They say it is very simple to add. Two other members of this board have already successfully installed it. I'm sure the dealer will not install it because of legality reasons.

iDrive lcd is mouted with 2 star (like allen screw) screws and behind is two cables with plugs. IF I have understand correctly TV module have similar plugs in/out, so no any cable cutting.

It has to be a Torx screw... BMW doesnt use Allen screws.
