I mounted my wintertires last saturday and was experiencing balance problems.

Went to a specialized tire dealer (profile tyrecenter blok in the hague). They use a Hunter GSP9700 balancing machine that doesn't only measures the unbalance of the rim/tire combo but also independend of eachother. It turned out that my rims were perfect but that all 4 tires where not round anymore... :'( (probably due to fabrication problems).

When the tireguy gave me the report I felt very bad.. Aaargh.. Made an e-bay buy that was gonna cost me another 1000 euros in new tires. :'(

I called the guy in Germany where I bought the wheels with tires from. Explained the situation. He called me back in 30 minutes telling me that BMW Wheels exchange in Germany (where he got my wheels from) is sending me 4 brand new Dunlop Wintersports M3 DSST tires and I will have them before next wednesday.
Talking about service!!!! Wow.. I am so happy now that I am getting new tires and my problem will be solved. This shows that there are still honest people around. He asked me if I can send the old bad tires back to germany for investigation (wich is gonna cost me a little money)

Second thing is that the tiredealer profile also did a great job in trying to help me out even since I didn't buy the set at their place. The owner of the shop called dunlop netherlands for me and also arranged 4 new tires for me! Unfortunately the DSST wintersports from Dunlop can not be supplied by Dunlop netherlands so that was a problem. They offered me new tires from dunlop without dsst. If the german guy didn't help me out I would have taken that offer. I think this is marvelous since I bought the tires in Germany and dunlop netherlands still gives me warranty on them.

In the end all is going to work out great and I have a very good feeling about the people I dealt with. I hope my new tires arrive soon and can be mounted quickly without problems and I can drive troublefree km's this winter..

Glad to know it worked out for you. That is awesome. I am still waiting on 1 rim to come in and I will set for the winter. Pretty silly to me that they did not ship all four at the same time.

You're board level should be changed from "Specialist" to "Tire Specialist".

Got my new Dunlops in las tuesday. The guys from the BMW wheel center flew them in by airplane with DHL!!! I think it must have cost them around 300 or 400 euros to do that!! Wow..

Today they were mounted at the same profile tyre shop in The Hague. Awesome service again from these guys. They used their hunter balancing machine on them and the guy told me he had never seen runflat tires with such good ratings on the machine.

Drove home on the freeway and no more balance problems. The new tires are less noisy then the old ones and the car drives superb on them. I am very satisfied and happy with the service everybody gave me and will enjoy my new tires all winter long!
