I'm about to pull the trigger on a set of gunmetal VB3s for my platinum gray metallic e60. I always thought it would look a bit stealthy given the color of the car paired with all black trim and gunmetal wheels, yet not completely Vader'ed out - still some contrast. Now I'm having second thoughts - a coworker showed me a pic of a hyper black setup on a silver audi and it looks sweet. I've seen the gunmetals in person but never the hyper blacks. Can anyone share pics of a platinum gray e60 with either of these colors so I can compare? So many more gunmetal pics when searching online - seems the hyper blacks get no love - wonder why.

I ended up going with V718's in gunmetal. I'll post some new pics when they are mounted. Should have my xi staggered 124 setup for sale soon.

They are mounted but the installer nicked one :thumbsdown: I just received the replacement, which they are paying for, and should have that one mounted over the weekend.

 

I think you made the right choice with going gunmetal with your color car.
