Sounds like a good investment. I think I found my next mod.

I really love my Bell STi Driver. It's one, if not the highest rated detectors out there and it has saved me dozens of times. You can't go wrong with the Valentine though.

I've had my Valentine since they first went on sale (was actually on a waiting list for months before they were released) and completely agree they're the best out there.

Are you serious. Its by far the best looking radar out there.
Compared to escorts or anything else that looks like cheap plastic!
Hey ! Thems fightin' words!

Looks aside, the Escort is an awesome R.D. I've lost count of how many times it's saved me, and with plenty of time to slow down I might add.

Plus it's mobile and I can take it in my wife's car (the fuel efficient one).

While I would agree with you on this, I would opt for the V1 next time around.
The 8500 has saved me countless times, but I do miss the directional arrows.

Anyone have a LIDAR jammer? I'm thinking of installing one (they're legal here in Georgia), but I've heard that they can sometimes give false readings... I would hate it to give a false reading that's higher than I'm actually going.

They seem interesting - there are a bunch of different kinds out there - have a look at the radar detector forums (http://www.radardetector.net/forums/)

Just got mine on Friday. Well worth it...already saved my ass. I hardwired it and it works perfect. Used the DIY from somewhere around here in the forums.

Edit: Here are the instructions for hard wiring it.

V1 is the best. It's just that simple. It's all about the arrows.

I have V1 for a while now and it's great.
The only thing :I would love to disable some types of radars - K an X. here in Cali they only use Ka and L and most of the time I get K and X alert -it's a sensors in shopping marts - false alarms.

Let me know if anyone know how to do that.

P.S. I hardwired mine also and it looks great. Arrows and volume controls are very convenient
