I hardwired mine and mounted it to windshield via the suction cups provided.
It's now been 2+ years since and the V1 mount is still holding things up. The nice thing about this setup is that I can still use the windshield sunshade without having to move the V1 (which might be the case if you have it mounted to a visor...).
