Seems like those who have done the CDV delete have been happy. I am a little concerned about the UUC short shifter since it seems like one installation (Wolverine) didn't end up working well. Someone else then did it and used the plastic bushing that comes with the OEM shifter rather than the metal one from UUC. Has anyone else done this mod and if so what were the results? I am tempted to ask them to use the OEM plastic bushing....

Thanks, Scott

The CDV delete will be fine. Let me know how the short-shifter replacement goes. I spoke with UUC and they were very professional and refunded my money, and offered to do a free install if I would drive to Cleveland. I'm still considering it, but given the problems I went through the first time, I probably won't.

Let me know how it sounds after the install, I'm very interested.

I called UUC last week and they said they were working on a short shifter for the e60, but it's not out yet. They had one available but they decided to take it off the market to make some adjustments/corrections. Did you actually talk with UUC recently and did they say they have one available now? Because I'm interested in getting a short shifter for my 545i too.

I was the one with the CDV delete and UUC using the plastic bushing. I've had no problems.

The CDV change was very positive. The UUC improved the shift feel, but I still feel that the throws are long-ish.

Much smoother clutch pick-up. BTW, it's a very simple and inexpensive upgrade.

I just talked to UUC, and the shifter I received this week is supposed to be the new one. I will let you know what the results are after installation tommorow.

MUCH, MUCH smoother clutch engagement. Get the bored out CDV from Zeckhausen Racing for less than $50, then have a good mechanic install it for around $100. Best change for the buck you can make on the car.

let me know how you like it. If it's good, I'll drive up to Cleveland and have it installed!
