USB and IPOD

I understand that you can control the Ipod via Idrive when you have an USB. On the Ipod 5th generation you can also run movies. Does this means that you can start the movie on the IPOD too?

There's no way that BMW is going to allow people to watch movies off their iPod on the idrive screen is there? That would just be too amazing. I have the navwithtv module so I can do it, but if it came like that from the factory that would be awesome.

I understood that but here is the possiblity:
You can connect Ipod to the USB of the BMW
On the Ipod there is also an AV output (on top of the IPOD) which can be connected to an Video input (such as the navwithtv)
The idea is that you can start the video via the Usb and see the movie via the AV connection towards the frontscreen with the navwithTV
