My Ride: A Car
I am debating if i should head to Upsolute in NJ
POWERTECH
311 West Main Street
Rockaway, NJ 07866
USA
I called them and they said it'll cost $560 installed. but then when i contacted Upsolute HQ, they said it should be $400 plus one labor hour charged. Maybe they r charging 2 labor hours?? has anyone went to upsolute and gotten a tune? i have a 545i and i am pretty sure they can squeeze some hp out of this car. 325 hp for a 4.4 liter V8 seems so low. look at a ferrari 360. 3.6 liter V8 with 400 hp but a low 275 torque though. i never really understand why they push so much hp out of smaller engines.
anyway, who has experience with upsolute? i searched everywhere but couldnt really find useful info. thanks in advance

I used Upsolute for a tune on my highly modified '00 Audi A4 I went to a dealer local to me and everything went very smoothly..I was very happy with the performance. Guess that doesn't really help too much regarding your particular car but I was happy with the service and performance on my car anyway Plus mine was a pretty complicated tune that was meant for a much larger turbo charger, larger MAF meter, and larger injectors.
Also, I believe Upsolute lists their retail price for the tune itself then the actual shop decides how much they want to tack on for install. For my A4 one shop wanted $500 and the other wanted $400...guess which one I chose? lol

I am getting my 545i chipped this Monday with Upsolute in Fairfax, VA. I talked to the guy and he said it will give a 20hp gain (http://www.upsolute.com/index.php?option=c...models&id=4) and will take approx. 2 hours to complete. He quoted me at $395... you might want to try and bargain with them if they are asking for around $600 for the install if not perhaps try and find another distributor:

Hope this helps...

Please, please get a dyno before doing this. Don't take the words of a tuner. Also, ask him if there is a money back guarantee. Afterwards, go back and do another dyno. This is the only true way to know if you got any measurable gain.
