With all due forum respect...what does that have to do with what we are discussing here? We're not talking HP, SB has NO, ZERO, ZILCH affect on HP - we know that, but you do loose the last 1/3 of your throttle, meaning with SB, if you push your accelerator past 2/3 of its physical limit, you will NOT gain any more throttle response as you've already used it in the first 2/3's.

Personally I don't like the fact that the last 1/3 of my accelerators physical movement wouldn't do anything with the SB. Some don't mind that and that's fine.

I do agree that my car has a lag in throttle, but am hoping that an ECU remap from an aftermarket tuner, DINAN, PES, one of them will take care of it without deleting the full functionality of my accelerator pedal. Anyone have experience with this and know?
bottom line is, if you're more bothered by the last 1/3 of your accelerator's movement(which I don't have) than the lag in throttle, then SB is not for you. I am getting my ECU remapped at EuroRev today and I will let you know.

Awesome. You have SB right? Are you going to remove it to see what the remap does before putting it back on? Can't wait to hear the results.

I will be on my way home in an hour; luckily I get to play on the highway. I'm going to test this theory of losing the top 1/3. If I'm hearing this correctly, if I push my throttle beyond say 2/3 and before the "kickdown", I will not feel any additional speed???? Is this correct?

that's what I am under the impression "should" happen. Yes, please post your results.

I have the SB as well as the Singh Autosport software (and the RDSport sofware before that). When I took off the SB before under the RDSport tune, I can feel a huge difference in throttle response and couldn't wait to put it back. Haven't tired taking it off now that I have the Singh tune.

As for the last 1/3 pedal travel, I'm not sure why that matters. It's either having 1/3 of useless pedal travel up front or 1/3 of it on the back end. You're not losing any acceleration capabilities.

But your not gaining any with it either, except a little slight effort in your right ankle and foot muscles, right? Don't know, I just like to know that when the pedal hits the floor, and then the kickdown thing, thats that.

I can't really describe the feeling but having the SB is a lot more enjoyable than just putting a bit more effort in your right foot. You really have to try it to see the difference. Maybe someone local to you can let you try it out.

Another SB debate FTW! Which car would benefit more (or less) from an SB, a 535 or a 550?

+1 It seems as though you get to your 100% acceleration, 30% faster, whether it's lag or useless pedal travel, is immaterial, the acceleration is identical! I also kind of wonder if the pedal travel in ANY car is 100% useful and not made up of SOME ineffectual movement?

bottom line is, if you're more bothered by the last 1/3 of your accelerator's movement(which I don't have) than the lag in throttle, then SB is not for you. I am getting my ECU remapped at EuroRev today and I will let you know.
SB is for people who want their car to feel faster, buy increasing the sensitivity of their gas pedal. just push it down all the way, same effect. if you dont have a lead food, then SB is for you. I have a lead foot, my throttle is mashed to the floor A LOT. the SB would be a waste of money for me. i am one of the very few on here that are not for the SB.

it would be like putting a more sensitive dimmer switch on your lamp. it is gonna get just as bright if you put it all the way up. if you want it as bright as it can be, just turn the dimmer switch all the way up, no need to modify it.
