I just dropped my 8 1/2 year old Valentine One off at the PO for returning to the Man for an upgrade. Does anyone have experience. What I am wondering is will I get a new board in my old case or will I get a new case, too. Anyone know?

I had my 1.5 year old V1 upgraded a few weeks ago for POP. The unit I got back had a different serial number (an earlier one) so it looks like they don't upgrade your unit, but rather have a stock of upgraded ones they ship from. Not sure if this would apply to a 8.5 year old unit.

Thanks. Hope it does apply, but can't be sure based on the site description.

They're sending you a brand new one...That's why the 'upgrade' isn't so cheap when you have such an old model V1 as I did...But well worth it! You will also get all the included accessories again as well...

Yeah, I think it depends on the upgrade. If you haven't had an upgrade in a while, you'll likely get a new unit/case.

If you simply need new software or a new board, you may get the same unit back.

Quite some time ago, I upgraded my "original" V1 but opted not to get the laser protection. If I chose laser, I'd have a new case. Since I didn't, I think I got back the same unit I sent them but they changed the sticker on the front display panel (it says "Laser" but I don't have it.)

I couldn't agree more. I've been a member for only a few weeks, and have to say this is a wonderful community.

Yep, a new one. I upgraded two years back from a then three year old version. Got back a thinner, lighter version. Its a great program.
