I just got my 2004 545i smg last week, and i am amzed. I want more power, more than what it has. Where can I look to see where I can get performance chips for the increase in power. Glad to be here, this site is the best by far...

Welcome.
I think you will find that there is no much you can do to increase the "power" of a 545/550 using simply a chip. BMW engineers now do a very good job of extracting almost all possible power from the 8 cylinder engines. You can get some performance gain - shift points, top speed - with a chip, but not much HP or torque.

If you want more power, change final drive ratio . You have 2.93 .. 3.15 or 3.23 or 3.38 and you have more acceleration .
A problem of 545i SMG and Manual is the ratio inside the differential, that I'm planning to solve, once for all!

There is a Speed Innovations ECU flash for the 545i. I was going to get it but decided against it as I won't be keeping the car for more than another year. You might want to look into it.
