your cousin is misinformed, dinan has the possibility of voiding your OEM warranty as well, it's just Dinan also provides a secondary warranty should BMW find that Dinan part/after market modification is the cause for the needed repair. that being said, BMW would void your warranty/deny warranty work only if the exhaust itself is proven to cause said need for repair...you can take it to local shop for install, just be sure they know way they are doing, no welding is needed to install the RPI exhaust...we have a few SLO/central cali members, they might be able to recc a shop local to you...

good luck...

RPI without a shadow of a doubt. Member melimel has a RPI exhaust on her 550 and is sounds fantastic. It unleashes the beast within the V8.

Thank you everyone. I am going to order RPI. Will post a video once it's installed.

Good move. It is a great sounding exhaust. If I didn't lease my car and live in an apartment with no place to store my OEM exhaust for lease return, this is absoltuely something that I would get because the OEM 550 exhaust note is far too tame. I love V8 muscle and the roar of a V8 at WOT. I loved that sound in my dearly departed Mustang 5:0 and loved it again last week in my rented Dodge Challenger RT with the Hemi V8. The RPI 550 exhaust restores the glorious sound of a proper V8.

I agree with you. I love my car but its missing that V8 rumble. I can't wait to get one and install it.
