I bought 50 for 5$ from ebay, no problem since 3 months having them ! radio shack buy their led from china too, so I think they are the same !

Phew!! I did this mod back a few months ago, and have constantly had the moisture issue, regardless of weather conditions. The airflow theory makes complete sence now that I see it mentioned so I'll do that over the weekend and hope it works....... it'll be a huge relief for me because I was seriously starting to regret ever doing the mod. i was even contemplating having to replace the headlights!
Here's hoping.

My boy does coding but located in Los Angeles, CA if your ever interested, he coded my E60 with the orginal germany settings.

Theoretically yes, but removing the headlight is the easiest part of the mod.

You may laugh....and I understand the bits need to be soldered out etc but for stability purposes the light remaining in the car is the best place!
