Great setups!

I was curious I have an 06 530i with the sports package, and was wanting to get 20's and buy either H&R or Eibach Sportline lowering springs. If I do the lowering springs, do you think I could still put 20s on it? I know I'd probably have to roll the fenders. Or do you think I should just get 19's with lowering springs? Any input would be appreciated. thanks!

Hi all,
some nice setups here. Had A question on upgrading my wheels as many of us do. Got the 08 535xi wagon no sport package. Came with the 225/50/17 43et offset i think. I would love to put the 313 style 18x8 et34 or the 18x8.5 et37 and use the 245/40/18 tires on those.
Anyone runs these or knows if it will fit no problem. Will the 18x8 be better than the 18x8.5 for the car(fitment wise) or the tire size?

Just to add, I did my search and know that I should be able to fit wheels that begin at et30 and up to the oem. Also read that the e90 wheels should fit. What I would like to know is the rubber size to wheel fitment and than the fitment to the car. If that makes any sense. I guess with the 18x8.5 the 245's will look much more flat to the side of the wheel than on the skinnier 18x8. And according to de calculator the 8.5 will have: 7mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 19mm
and the 8.0 will have: 3mm MORE clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 15mm

Don't mean to jack the thread, but I am going to order a set of 245/35/20 fro the front and 285/30/20 for the rear. I have a 07 550i, and want to make sure this size will fit. I am going to put them on a set of BBS CH-R with 24mm offset
let me know, thanks!

Of course you can. It depends on the offset of the wheels, and make sure you have the correct tire size. If you really want 20s, but got 19s instead, you will regret it forever, and change to 20s anyway sooner or later. So you might as well get the 20s now lol.

I don't know about xi. I have a 530i no sport package, and my front wheels are 18x8 ET20 with 245/40/18 tires. With the stock suspension, there's no problem at all. When I upgraded to KW v2, the front tires hit the springs of the coilover. I had to use at least 10mm spacers in the front to clear.

It doesn't really matter if you use 18x8 or 18x8.5, because the tires would still be 245 section width. But Bridgestone tires have more rounded (fatter) sidewall than other tires, so there's more probability of rubbing with Bridgestone tires. I'm not sure about xi's, but I heard the offset is less aggressive than non-xi. So you should be fine with either offset.

In short, if you're planning on staying with stock suspension, you will have NO problem at all. The spring seat is located quite far above the front tire.

Please pardon my ignorance, but is the style 313 the one you find on 335is? Pretty nice rims

Hello everyone,

Im currently running 255/30/20 with 20 offset 8.5 wide wheel in the front and 295/25/20 in the back with an 25 offset and 10 wide wheel. I had H&R coilovers recently installed that don't make the tires rub at all. Need new tires and want more rim side wall protection. Jumping to the 35/30 series. I know a 275/30/20 in the back will clear with no issues but will a 245/35/20 in front rub? Or should I buy a 235/35/20 instead? Or roll the fenders???

Thank you for everyone's time and help.

Andrew
