Hi Friends (Opps Where = Were. Why do I make so many mistakes in my topic titles?):

I have posted a blurry pic of a sticker on my late 05 545i. I am not sure what models/dates of manufacture have the ugly and seemingly silly sticker--i.e., why not have 4 stickers--one for each majory iDrive function/direction?

Anyway, has anyone removed this sticker leaving no bad effects whatsoever. How did you do it? I don't want to remove it unless I feel very confident that I won't leave something worse than the sticker behind.

You may not be able to read the sticker, but it says something about climate control.

I also wanted to remove it. How did you do it? Just peel up from one corner?

Not to hijack the thread, but what about removing those ugly warning stickers/decals on the sun visors? On my Carreras I used denatured alcohol to get the decal off, and 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner to remove the residue. I really had to soak the stickers to loosen them, but the visors were black vinyl so it wasn't a problem. Since my BMW visors are gray fabric, my concern is they'd absorb the liquids and leave a stain that's uglier than the stickers. Anybody have luck removing them?

Thanks much. I will try it at least unless no one else indicates a problem. Anyone else?

Hijacking always welcome on my topics; same sort of problem anyway. I was thinking that the sunvisor decals are attached very permanently. I can't remember how. But, I think that taking them off is a no-no. Sorry, if my recollection is faulty.

On the other issue, unless someone provides different info, I am going to try more or less what you said. Get a corner loose and lift slowly.

Thanks much. It appears there is no special technique. I'm ready to go.

WAIT!! never mind, it is probably already too late.

Seriously, I just did it yesterday and it left an ugly sticky mark. I has yet to figure out how to remove the mark. Let me know how it went.

Thanks much. Humm. OK, now I'll wait to hear more. I'd like to hear how some, if any, have removed the ugly sticky stuff after removing the sticker and if there were any problems after removal of the sticky stuff.

Well I haven't exactly try removing any sticker on my car, but for other thing that when I remove the sticker and it leave those sticky residue behind I would use an eraser to rub it out and apparently it work. But only use those white erasers not those big pink sandpaper like one. Of course try the eraser on the surface first to make sure it wouldn't leave any mark after rubbing
