Tyre size on Hartge wheels (pics)-hartge.jpg

Hi guys,

Didnt think i'd be also asking a tyre size qs, but here goes,..

I shall be receiving my Hartge Classic 2 replica wheels soon. I have now 245X40X18 which translates best to 285X25X20 for the back (please correct me if i'm wrong) ,.. but here are the questions:

Back Wheels is 9.5J and front wheels is 8.5J

1. Will 285 fit on a 9.5J wheel
2. And what size tyre shall i take for the front? Remember it is 8.5J

looking forward to your answers...

Ronald

My Ride: 535d Sport, carbon black, media pack, visibility pack, grey leather, heated seats, sun protection glass, voice control, Eibach ProKit, 19" 166 style wheels, e-maps ECU remap to 325hp and 640NM, top speed limiter removed

285/25/20 is the correctly calculated transformation size and will fit a 9.5" rim perfectly fine.

The fronts should be 245/30/20 in line with the rears.

Yes - i just checked. U r exactly right. there is actually very little other choice. 255x30x20 give a bigger difference in comparison with the rear 285's.

so i guess 245/30/20 it is !

the sizes you mentioned are correct.

i guess you are aware that upgrading to 20" will cost performance esp. acceleration, i had 18" before and now got the m166 19" m5 size, even the alloys are pretty lightweight i can feel that the car got slower.

it's even more difference comparing the 17" winter tires with the 19" summer tires, i once stopped 100-200 km/h, it made more than THREE seconds difference.

you said you bought replicas and i would wonder if they are lightweight in any means, so i do not want to drag you away from getting them but let you know the experience i made before you buy them

btw they look great
