Why would you go through the trouble of swapping a 520i engine with a 530i engine? At least throw in the 545i or 550i. I saw a 545i engine with tranny on ebay the other day, the car was in a role over accident and apparently the engine and tranny were fine, they were asking $3,000 for both.

Here they ask 4000 eur. for a 530i installed
M54-6 inline is an easier job and there is no need to replace the DME. They just reprogam the original DME with the 530i software

The 3.0 engine were swapped from a crashed '02 Z4 with 45000 km and they give 1 year warranty.
