My Ride: 5 Series Touring (E61) 2005, 530d

Hi,
I have the TV option on my car and I would like to buy one of these from eBay http://cgi.ebay.de/BMW-TV-Freischaltung-BM...id=p3286.c0.m14 - so that my passenger can watch TV while I'm driving.

I believe the cable from eBay needs to be plugged into the TV module. Where abouts is the module located?? I've noticed on the left hand side from my boot, a compartment and it has some kind of module. Is this the TV module?
If so, it looks pretty straight forward - please see pic of what I think is the module.

I'm really hoping this is it, as I don't want to do this: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?act=attach...st&id=67737
Looks complicated

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I would say that that is your tv tuner, being that it has the cooling fan on it. A relatively easy way to tell for sure is to get the part number off of it and plug that in to the database at www.realoem.com.

That is the correct TVfree module/cable (ebay) and you have also found the correct instructions about it. There is no other way to install it.
That is the Video module as well and I think this is the "Hybrid" version with Analog and DVB-T signal support (pic in the left side of the trunk)

Thanks all for your help. So this "TV free cable" plugs into the DVD Navi Computer, hence why I need to take off my dash etc.... hmm, not sure I want to do this - maybe I'll pluck up the courage to do it sometime!

Thanks again.

I have the TV unlocked since the first day: analogic works in motion, digital TV not. And in 2-3 year analogic TV will be turned off in Europe (stupid thing, but that's it) .
Resist to don't watch it while driving!
