I noticed the non-US E60 had a feature for TV. I also noticed that when my idrive crashed it showed a "TV" option under the "entertanment" menu. SO........There must be a part I can get to make it work. Any one have any ideas? Do you this it will need to be activated by the dealer also? If so can it be done in the US, or do the euro dealers have differant software?

Thanks

You would need a TV tuner in order for it to work. You can order aftermarket tuners for around 300 bucks I think. The US has plenty to choose from. It will work on your i-Drive screen. Call a local car Audio/video dealer. They can hook you up.

This company has finally released a module for the E60 but I don't know too many details on how well it works, etc.

This company makes kits for BMW but not for the E60 (yet?).

Keep us posted if you decide to install something!

I don't think it is digital.
The BMW settop box should be a possible retrofit for you. I don't see why you can't order it in the UK. Or get the TV tuner BMW puts in the MY2005.
If you buy one from the US you will probably not have it digital and not in your countrys system. In the US they use NTSC, we use PAL... That's a different coding of the colour system...

As Many discussions as we have on this subject, I have still not gotten to the bottom of whether i can havesome aftermarket unit installed to my car so i can watch tv on the idrive screen. I have no nav or tv option.

Anyone who can clear this up for a uk person like me would be greatly appreciated.
