Hey guys hows it going,

I am trying to look for the ultimate short shifter for my 530i 2005. I have been looking around in the forum for about a week and I need your help to choose the best one.

https://5series.net/forums/index.php...pic=75230&st=0
I found a fellow member who has done this project himself using a Z4 3.0 and M Shift Knob with part number shift lever part # 2511 7543 193

OR!

https://5series.net/forums/index.php...opic=49996&hl=

another member using part numbers
short shift part no: 25117546373
And new bearing part no: 25111220600

I dont know which one to go with. I am trying to look for a shorter throw and a smoother shift. I would ALSO like to know what parts I need for the CDV (Clutch Delay Valve) and where I can get the part and how to do it. Thanks a lot for your help!!!!

I have the 373 shifter along with the bmw performance shift knob, the shifter itself sits quite a bit lower now and the throws are a little shorter. I have been contemplating switching to the z4 shifter for even shorter throws however the trouble with the z4 shifter is that it has a different angle to it so that it sits further forward then the 373 shifter. Take a look at my gallery I have pics of the shifter installed

if your build date is past 03/05, you already have the 373 shifter. early 2005s did not have it. the z4 shifter is shorter, but yes, it does require bending to get it centered in the shift boot opening.

I didn't realize UUC made SSK for e60, I wonder if yours will fit and if it doesn't will the SSK made for the e46 330i fit?

Since im not going to be installing it, if the shop does bend it to get it in, will it stay in or pop out from time to time?
