Hi Friends:

As you know (maybe), my car is on a weight-reduction program (Weight Watchers)--including no spare tire and non-run flats. So, I bought the BMW mobility kit (pump and tire goo). When I buy BMW accessories, I get a discount, but I tell my parts people that the only reason I buy BMW accessories is because they say BMW on them--which actually is true. The mobility kit used to come in a bag with "BMW" on it. That's not true anymore. So, I improvised. I found that the BMW wheel centers are simply high-quality stickers. So, I put one on my mobility kit. They cost about $4, and might be useful for a variety of things. I use the BMW oil-quart holders to hold "emergency" supplies of quick detailer, interior cleaner, glass cleaner, cotton cloths, and tire goo. I get the travel-packs of the first three and the cotton cloths from Griot's, but other brands might fit just as well.

I found that the mobility kit, when turned the right way, fits in the container on the left side of my trunk virtually perfectly. If I put it on that side, then the rest of my "stuff" goes on the right side. But, I like my mobility kit mod to show. ~{;^) So, I reverse things--more or less. Here are some pics (very low res images).

I assumed the cutout was standard at least for 05's. My car just came that way. Hummmm? Actually, my car is a pretty late 05. I think that sometimes changes coming for the next model year sneak into the current model year--at least on some cars. Hey, maybe I got a 360 HP engine. ~{;^)

No, mine is a 05 with the new 2.5L engine, but I don't have that piece. Just browse through the ETK and I couldn't find the part number for it. Actually, what's that cut out for? A little compartment? Is it big enough for CDs?

[/quote]I just assumed it is for storage. It would hold many CDs or a BMW ~{;^) CD case or 2.

It comes with the L7.

The L7 is back there and needs more room, so that's why this looks differewnt.

Actually the cutout is big enough to fit a DVD player in there, or other stuff like that.

Check out Hobi's car...

Son of a... if I had known that piece of trim was available I could have hidden more electronics in the trunk. Which one of the three 'left trunk trim' part numbers here is this guy:

Thanks Iceman. I am not sure what L7 is. And, for all, I looked behind the little door again. There's a pretty good space there too; it is rectangular and goes beneath the bottom of the area in which my kit is stored. I think this area might hold a few CDs too.
