Surely if you've used 2007-2 disc and it performs in a particular way then you have answered your own question.

ABC
No ,I have sat in a new-ish car which was supposed to have the "latest" disc, and the postcode search appeared to be only 4 digits ( actually 5 if the first part of the postcode had 4 characters).

I felt it would be a bit rude to eject the dvd, just to check which version it was, while the driver was using it to navigate.

Kind of you to let someone else take the strain.

The latest disc came out on May 1st so your car may or may not have it depending on when you took delivery.

Maybe you could've waited till you were alone to look at the disc?

Think you're getting the wrong end of the stick old boy. The car I was in belongs to someone I know who was showing me his new car. The car is an 07 plate but not a facelift model. Hence when he told me he had the latest navigation and proceded to put in a postcode I wasn't sure whether he did really have the 2007-02, as the postcode search seemed the same as my 2007-01 disc.

You can eject a disc even if the driver is navigating. The Navigation still continues.

The original 2007-2 is also limited to 5 char UK postcode.

Does the 2007-02 have a 7 digit postcode search? Cos i have apparently seen one that claims to be 2007 -02 but still has the 4 digit search only....
On questioning BMWUK over a year back they informed that there was insufficient storage space available to add full UK post code capability, as in 7 chrs. - I'd believe that this has not changed since as nothing other than minor updates have been made to my knowlegde, anyone?

As for the post code search function using 4 chrs, it uses the first 5 chrs - input accepts the first four alpha-numeric chrs plus the first numeral from the last three chrs of the UK post code..............
