Hello.. I will never in a million years pay 350 dollars for BMW TPMS sensors for my new wheels.. BMW actually quoted me 700 with labor...they can go *^&% themselves lol

Luckily in the e60s its just a tiny little yellow light, and idrive looks completely fine.

However, if I decide to look for them some day, if I grow sick of the yellow light, does anyone know any cheap after market ones that have been tested and work fine for e60s?

Im talking the cheapest ones out there that def work.. I do not care for there purpose. Id have my car coded to remove tpms sensor info if possible..

 

that is indeed ridiculous for labor of installing TPMS. we carry TPMS if interested, and any tire/wheel shop should be able to install them for you =) Ill send you a PM with some info.

 

Post a "WTB" on this board or look on Craigslist. I purchased a set of OEM sensors on this board last year for $100.

What's wrong with their purpose? They tell you when you have low tire pressure. I think that's a GOOD thing.

 

Air in tires? Ain't nobody got time for that!!!

 

I'd highly recommend that you stay away from aftermarket tpms. There are a ton of customers who have purchased aftermarket TPMS to save money who ultimately regret doing so. The reason for that is that these aftermarket sensors often have syncing and compatibility issues. Basically, the car will sync up and read the TPMS, and it’ll go inactive and trigger the warning intermediately. This is something that can grow to be a big pain and will be a hassle to diagnose. I’d rather not put you through this trouble as the end solution most of the time for customers is that they end paying the difference for some OEM sensors. They do also pay for remounting/balancing of their wheels which could have been avoided in the first place.

The dealer is definitely ripping you off by trying to charge you $350 for the set. We sell the OEM BERU TPMS for a whole lot less than what the dealer is charging. There are two different TPMS available for the E60 depending on the year of the car.

$295 is not too far from the $350 the dealer gets. Ya gotta do better than that! Like look what these people are getting for them. Prices are even better on eBay.

 

Glad my car uses FTM instead of TPMS. Sure it's great to know which tire is low with TPMS, but I can easily look with my eyes and or check to see which one is low with FTM.

 

I bought 5 sensors for 100 bucks on Ebay back in May. My local tire shop charged me $28 total to install them. Just as a reference how badly you are getting ripped off.

 

I got mine from a fellow 5Series.net board member for the same price shipped. I'm not saying that deals like that are common, but they are out there if you look and you're patient. At any rate, anything above $200 for a set of OEMs is a rip-off.
