I am about to get these, the Toyo Proxes T1-R's to replace the Potenza run-flats on my car, an 06 550i sport w 19 inch oem m6 wheels. is anyone using these now, if so what are your thoughts, as far as i have heard they are a very good tire and not really expensive. i am able to get a set for just about $1000 for all 4, 275/30 R19 in the back and 245/35 R19 for the fronts...any input would help

Very good tires. Treadlife is okay but the tires handle like a dream. I had them in the past as well as my friend who currently has them. Sounds like you got a good deal. I think i paid like $300 a piece for the rears on my last car.

I had them on my old M3 and liked them. Great handling and not very noisy either.

I've been running the T1R's on the M for 10 months or so, and I agree they are a good tire for the price. I've been impressed with the treadlife and the handling. If I had a complaint, it would be road noise. Thank goodness for that sweet exhaust note to drown it out.

i use to have them on my last set of tires.......good performing and looking tires.....the only thing to watch for was my rear tire seems to not have much "rim protection" as in my wheels would stick out a lil more than the tire.....the size i was running then was 275 30 19

I run Toyos on an old SL and am considering them for my 550. I currently run 285/35/19 on rears and there's plenty of room on OEM M5 rims- I would consider 285 at a minimum and maybe even 295 - might even help if you're concerned about rim protection.

IMHO

I have the T1R's on my DPE's for the summer. I think they are a great tire very sticky, road noise isn't bad (at least not that I can notice), treadwear is ok, for me they were an expensive tire and for what I do (cruise around town no racing no hard driving) I think I will be going back to the generals because they are much cheaper. $1000 seems like a good price though better then anything I can get here in Canada.

I ran these on an E46.
Tread wear - ok, not as good as the Continentals used previously
Dry grip - good
Wet grip - superb, cut through standing water on the motorway when I thought I was about to become a speedboat captain
Noise - a little noisier than the Conti's.
In the UK these are priced as a mid-range tyre and represent great value.
