Hi everyone,

I bought my wheels about 7 months ago and here is the description:

Style 32 OEM - 20x9 and 20x10 front/rear respectively
Tires: 255/30/R20 Front
295/25/R20 Rear

I probably have around 7K miles on the tires and this past friday I went in for a re balance and found out both of my rears have massive bulges in them. I accidently ran one low for a day's commute and the other just got a bulge in it. My tire guy said the bulge on one side came from the low pressure and the other side was just a bulge. I asked him about Michellin PS2s and he told me those tires were even softer, and therefore more likely to bulge.

Point is, if you're running a low series tire like me, check tire pressure at least once a week if not more. Also, get rebalanced and aligned once a month regardless of if you think you need it or not. Its better to do this than to have to spend another $500+ on two new tires....Hope this info helps....

toyo's are some of the best tyres out there...by far, there must be more to this tale, such as pot holes and as you say running them low pressure.
if there looked after the profile does not matter, as they are designed for it.
soft compound tyres wear more on the "tred surface" but the sidewalls are still tough enough?

Whoa , sorry to hear about your troubles.

I was considering those exact same set of sizes from Toyo Proxes 4,
but have since decided to go with a different 245/35/20 and 285/30/20.

Yea, the potholes were most likely the cause for the low pressure. But, my car is a daily driver and therefore not gone over with a fine tooth comb each day. Softer tires do wear on the tread surface, but since the tires are made of a softer compound, the sidewalls strength is compromised a bit. My advice is to go with the highest profile you can without rubbing. Thats why I'm doing a 295/30/R20 this time around, and I'll be monitoring the pressure more often.

If you're running low profile tires, look into Falken FK452, Yokohama Advan Sport, or any tire manufacturer with reinforced sidewalls. Toyos haves soft sidewalls. I've blown out two 285/25/20 T1Rs due to bubbles on the sidewall.

I might look into that when I get ready to buy a whole new set. How are the Falkens?

Falkens rub on the fenders with stock sports suspension but provides a more comfortable ride than RFs.

Hi there
I had a similar problem few years ago, after complaining to Pirreli was told the tires might have been sitting in the shop deflated, with an apology ,I was supplied with four set of new one's . You can check with the fitters when they have been delivered to the shop or with manufacture.

I've been running the Proxes 4 and have had no such troubles... yet. Haven't heard of any other troubles either.
