When I picked up my car I ordered a retrofit of a towing hitch (for a towball mounted cycle carrier). 6 weeks later and still no towing hitch: apparently the change in rear lights on LCI models means that the new towbar wiring system needs TUV approval which has not yet been completed. So, apparently, no towbar with LCI models as yet.

Happily my local BMW dealer have done the decent thing and I've just picked up a free set of BMW roof bars and 3 cycle carriers that should do the job in the meantime. And I have to say they are things of beauty: specific to the car and much better than the Thule equivalent. Even if I have some wind noise and decreased fuel efficiency, at least we get to take the bikes on our forthcoming holiday. So a big thumbs up for H.R.Owen in Chiswick...

I have LCI and towing hitch, factory installed. I know there is a difference between car's with M-Sport hitches and SE.

Do you have an M-Sport model? And your car has been delivered? (Your sig says on order)

If so, I'll be letting my dealer know that clearly a tow hitch on LCI is possible. Could be differences between LHD/RHD I guess...

Yeah, I have it and my car is delivered. It's a M-Sport.

Here is a pic of it when the hitch is not in use:
