Default Tom Tom navigation update?

I recently received an email. It appeared to be from Tom Tom, advising me that a navigation update was available for my car. A link sent me to the bmwusa website. The 2 disc update is $199, and I could have ordered online. (I drive an 09 528) Using the drop-down menu, I checked if my wife's car, 09 e92, it advised me to see the stealership for navigation update. Has someone had the same email notification of your e60 having a navigation update? Additionally, why does my wife's e92 have the more current navigation and my e60 has the older version, (both cars are 09)?

Thanks for the help.

DON"T DO IT!!!!! The ones that are that cheap are burned copies, you can burn it yourself for cheaper. Also, from what I've heard burned DVDs can kill your DVD drive and that usually means replacing the whole unit, it's NOT covered under warranty either (not under new car, CPO, or maint - trust me on this one)

Also, if your car is an early 09 car or earlier you may not have CIC and instead have CCC Navigation unit, if you have CCC you MUST get a disc that says specifically DVD-CCC

How do you know if it is CIC vs CCC?

I'm running the 2013 updated CCC-DVD Disk 2 WEST in my car! I burned it useing a good quality disk and high end burner! The DVD in the car has no problems reading it! Useing low quality Media and burner could give make the DVD in the car work extra trying to read it and I could see haveing problems down the road! if anyone wants a copy send me PM and I will see what I can do to eather burn a copy or direct you to some live links for download
