My Ride: 545i
that's a pic of my sti. i didn't have OEM shims even, i had crappy shims. too much heat got through and i cooked my brakes on the track. they normally would look like this:
i want to take the 545i out on some bmwcca track days, and would like some titanium shims if they are available

You don't want the heat blocked but to be dissipated naturally by improved ventilation. Use race brake fluid with higher boiling point.

My Ride: 545i
i'd only track it 1-3 times a year, for 15/20 minute sessions. doesn't bmw require all (*all*) cars do 10k km on the ring before they go to production? she's chubby but i figure she would be just fine... plan on doing high temp fluid (rbf 600) and nice pads (thinking carbotech xp8) - like the idea of having these on too.
