Go for the Michelins, they're the best all round. The Dunlops may be a little better for our wet weather here, but they get torn up pretty quick - not worth it in my opinion.

I have Michalin PS2s and have done about 40K with them. They have excellent grip and road noise is excellent.
The down side is that they cost a little more, but IMHO you get what you pay for.

the reality is that Michelin Pilot Sports are THE best tires on the market. Michelin is the finest tire there is, and I don't see that changing any time soon.
HOWEVER, there are some secondary options that are considerably less expensive. My list of those are the Potenza, the Goodyear F1, and the Toyo T1R.
For me, there is no comparison in bang for buck when you talk about the Toyo T1R. That is what I use. These cars will never really be pushed to a limit where you will tell the difference or, more importantly, need the difference. Yes, you can tell a slightly better feel w/ the Michelins and if money were absolutely no object, it's Michelin. But to me it is simply insane to pay 100+ more per tire in comparison to the T1R versus the Michelin, that is unless you wipe your ass with money and are blessed enough to have an M5. I'd still rock a T1R on an M5 based on sheer principal that I shouldn't have to pay that much more for that small of a difference in performance. Also, the Bridgestone and the Goodyear are very close to the T1R, but not quite as good. I'd give the bridgestone a slight edge over the goodyear as well.

?900,- more expensive than what?!? When I bought my M166s, the Michalin PS2s where an extra ?300 or ?400 compared to Dunlops. I think you may need to reconsider where you are buying your tyres from
Doc,
tyretest.com (EU) has some reviews on almost all of the tyres you are interested in
Here is a comparison of Michelin PS2 and Dunlop Sport Maxx ...not too much of a difference in results among them for that high difference in price
(beware: lower score is better)
Average score of 33 reviews (driven 22.742 km in total) on Michelins: 2.1
http://www.tyretest.com/pkw_sommerreifen/m..._ps2/index.html
Average score of 60 reviews (driven 20.267 km in total) on Dunlops: 2.3
http://www.tyretest.com/pkw_sommerreifen/d...maxx/index.html
Also for Potenza (2.1) - Conti (2.4) - Eagle F1 (2.2) - P Zero (2.2)

I just picked up a new set of Michelin PS2's and I must say that the ride quality is simply amazing.
Makes for a very smooth ride and yet it grips like crazy on hard turns. The performance comes at a cost though, $277 each at Discount Tire.
