Yes, 285's in the rear fit great. The only issue with the 285 size is PRICE. They're nearly $100 more expensive than the 275 size. Why? I don't know... This applies for the Michelin PS2, I don't know about other brands but it's probably the same. When I ordered mine from tirerack I had to send them my VIN# to make sure I was not a reseller and acctually going to use them on a car. Apparently they must be on a low production run with not many available hence the higher price. For the front, the only choice is 245/35/19, no question there. For the rear you can pick 275/30/19 or 285/30/19.

Yup! I just had installed: 285/30/19 rear and 245/35/19 rears ... oem 166...no rub or computer issues. Speedo may be a little off...but worth the look of the bigger rear tire! Also...getting a much better ride with non-runflats! BTW America's Tire Co. would not touch my MB with spacers when I they saw the spacers...due to their insurance policy.

O.K...I corrected myself. No pics just yet...just had them put on yesterday! Besides my camera's broken and I haven't replaced it...but I'm also waiting to do a photo shoot of the car soon...but I will be driving down to S.D. tomorrow...I'll test the 38/42 tire pressure combo mentioned on another thread

Not too much of an issue... but if I didnt know the results... I wouldnt want to spend $300 a tire just to TEST...

Maybe for DSC issues... maybe not... dont know... with all theses electronics in our cars not sure anyone knows exactlly what will happen unless you try it... and sounds like blackonblack tried and theres no issues...

Like Blackonblackonblack.. hes using that exact same set up as i described different diameter sizes and hes not getting an issue... I actually told him to go with that and try it out because he bought M5 rims that came with 285 tires... so why waste them... just use then and see what happens first. and it sounds like its not a problem... only thing is... the fronts are rolling i think 33 more revolutions than the rears...

If BoBoB did get the M5 wheel/tire combo then he did waste the 285s. The rear tire size that comes with the M5 are 285/35/19 if I'm not mistaken. If he's running 245/35/19s in the front, he'll have to replace the tires with 285/30/19s in the rears.

He's running M5 rears... he didnt waste it. He wanted to get all 4 new tires but since the wheels came with the tires already I told him to just try the rears first... save yourself $500. AND if he gets errors or problems then go get two new tires for the rear.

Okay, so BoBoB is running 245/35/19s for the front and 285/35/19s for the rear? That is an unusal setup there. So, he was right when he initially posted his tire sizes then?

You need to run 285/30/19 in the rear. I guess 285/35/19 fit but if you do that you will raise the rear of the car by 0.5" and your speedo will read like 5 mph too slow (ie. it says 65 but you're really doing 70). I wouldn't do it and it'll probably look funny with the rear so much higher!
