2005 545, 20X9 IN FRONT 20X10.5 IN REAR. i KNOW WHAT THE DEALER RECOMENDS BUT WHAT ARE YOUR EXPERIENCES WITH RUBBING. I WOULD LIKE A LITLE BIT OF SIDEWALL. WAS THINKING 245/35/20 IN FRONT AND 285/30/20 IN REAR. FALKEN 452'S. OR SHOULD I GO WIDER?

Dude you should really do some searching this topic is covered lots in this forum, but to answer your question I wouldn't go any wider tire then what you listed. If you are concerned about rubbing the safer rear tire size that most use is 275/30/20 and your front size is correct at 245/35/20

Honestly, after blowing out 4 19s in 6 months on relatively benign potholes, I would seriously think twice about going to 20s. Matter of fact, if my 19s didn't look so much better then my winter 18s I would think about switching to them all year round. The expense is not even an issue because they're insured. It's just such a pain in the ass every time that it happens especially if more then one blows at the same time.

285/25/20 and 245/30/20 will give you the correct rolling diameter. As suggested above, 275/30 and 245/35 will give you a little more meat. You can even possibly go 295/25 and 255/30 depending on your offsets.

This is exactly why I really don't want to go past 19", and even for the 19', to justify the one inch diameter gain, I am using lower profile tires. I love the 20" look but tbh, I wouldnt recommend it.

He is using the exact method to get the correct total wheel diameter, using lower profile to justify the diameter gain from the bigger rims. but for the rear, stick with 285 instead of 295.

bmw offers a 5 year wheel and tire warranty on anything you put on the car, they should have offered you this at time of purchase. I know I jumped on it when they told me about it when I bought my car.

I'm surprised to hear that they offered to cover any
wheel or tire you put on the car. When it was presented
to me, they had to be OEM wheels and tires.

Maybe my guy was misinformed.

Here's what I have from Paragon. It used to be a LOT cheaper. I think it was $27.95/year and now it's over $100! That next renewal is gonna suck!
