I'm in LA (westside). Bought a set of 4 tires for my BMW E46 about 2 years ago. Pretty smooth process. Had them drop shipped to a store in Santa Monica (Stokes Tire I believe).

May be worthwhile to ask how much balance and installation is. Since the tire store is not making any money on tires, they may charge you more for installation. I belive I paid $20 per tire for balance, installation, and alignment.

Hope this helps a little.

If you get a wheel & tire package from Tire Rack they come already balanced. If the shop that you bring it to charges you for balancing, bring it to another shop!!

The Tire Rack web site has a feature that will recommend dealers in your area for installation. You just need to enter your zip-code.

I used them once about 15 years ago. There was a problem with delivery where they stated the tires were delivered but they weren't. I lived in Atlanta at the time and I think someone might have stolen them off of my back porch before I got home. They shipped out a second pair within 48 hours. This was before they had a list of dealers to do installation so the hardest part was finding someone to install them. I get my tires now at Costco but I imagine that the new E60s shoes will be enough $$$ that I'll shop around alot. If the wheel/tire combos come balanced then why not DIY?

Great to work with! They know a lot more about tires for a BMW than my dealership. Highly recommended.

I've bought 3 complete wheel and tire sets, 4 sets of tires and one set of wheels from them over 20+ years. They are one of the best vendors I've ever dealt with. Their people are very knowledgeable, willing to help you out, and available. Their service is prompt, their prices good, and the quality is top notch. Never a missed delivery, never a messed up order, balance is always superb, and their recommendations have always been on target.
