My winter setup is 225/50 R17 all round. I'm having 2,4 bar (35 psi) in front and 2,8 bar (40,6 psi) in rear. It's ok, but the ride feels a bit harsh on a dry (no ice/snow) asphalt. I wondered if I could decrease the pressure in rear.
What do you think?

thats pretty high... i keep mine at 30psi...for two reasons, the run flats and the potholes in my city.

Check the sticker on driver's side. For 225/50/R17 the correct pressure is 2.0 bar in front and 2.3 in rear.

Part of reason BMW recomends high tire pressure for the rears is to promote understeer. I run 34psi all around for my summer and winter set ups.
