Whats up everyone,
Early thursday morning some jackass towed my car for being parked in the wrong spot overnight at a University. I don't know how my car was towed, but shortly afterwards, my inner sidewall blew on the highway with no prior warning.
I only suspect fault of the towing company because when I called triple AAA, their tow driver could only tow my car via flatbed and needed the hook that is inside my trunk to do so, and he also needed me to put the car in neutral and put on the e-brake. I doubt that a flat bed was used, and I left my car in 1st gear with the e-brake on when it was towed. I recently read that all wheel drives BMWs or cars in general must have their cars towed by a flat bed, and I am pretty sure a flatbed was not sued.
Do you think an inner sidewall tire blowout could be cause from improper towing by lifting the rear wheels with the car in gear and e-brake on? (My car was backed into the parking lot with another car behind me so there is no way they could have towed it by lifting the rear of the car.
Any and all help or opinions is appreciated. I would love to have these sob's pay for my flat repair haha.
Thanks,
Matt
P.S. I can post a pic if it will help anyone.

I'm not trying to sound like a jerk but...YOU parked your car in the wrong spot but the guy who did his job and towed it is a jackass???
Tow companies can use a wheel lift to tow a car - all they need to do is put the lift under two wheels and lift the other end up with the tow bar - no flatbed required. They even have specific model tow trucks called among other things, "snatchers" to specifically deal with situations like yours. If the driver really was a jackass then you would probably have scuff marks on the bumper from where the tow bar pressed against it. I really doubt your car was dragged down to the impound lot with the rear wheels locked snce this would also cause stress/damage to the tow truck drivetrain.
Its possible the sidewall could have been damaged from towing, but you are going to have to inspect the sidewall and somehow prove the damage was caused by their towing technique.

I say he's a jackass because I was parked next two other cars that did not have a parking pass either. I park there every weekend with no problems, as do countless others. No cops were called to complain about my car being in someone's spot, this guy just decided to tow my car at 5 in the morning while my friends car was directly next to me, for just as long, with no problems. I'm sticking with my argument that he's a jackass lol. I honestly feel like he towed my car because it's a nicer car in a campus parking lot with out of state plates on it. But that doesn't really matter.
Like I said though I can't be sure how he towed it, I was just told that AWD BMW's needed to be towed by a flatbed. I just put my stock wheels back on and noticed that the other rear tire (from the set that was blown) has what looks like a small crack in the inner sidewall. I had no problems with the tires before, and those cracks weren't there when I put them on. The hole on my inner sidewall of the tire that blew is pretty big tho, about 2 inches, and I didn't hit anything so I have no idea what could have caused it.

Your the man bro...
From now one everyone should avoid posting the whole story behind their questions to avoid inane comments like yours...
Kick rocks
He also apparently signed up just to post the comment. Even better!
But long story short.. even if the towing company was to blame it'd be nearly impossible for you to prove.. so nothing you can do.
