After having Hella tinted tails on my 545i, the taillights on the 550i seem to positively *GLOW*.....I'd like to tint them, but I'm told that there is only one tint available for them and it's WAY too dark for the local police! I need a nice subtle tint....any suggestions?

I thought mine were pretty subtle, but I guess the CHP didn't think so. Mine were tinted by Don in OC.

Got pulled over on the 101N from downtown. I need to take it off now and pay $25 (fix it tix). Annoying...

Do you remember what tint you put on? Do you have a picture? Let me know!

Unfortunately I was taking pix of my wheels and the tinted tails were cut off. I no longer have it on. Hope this helps. Unsure what type of tint film/% it was.

I suggest not to tint the tails. I had them tinted 20%. Someone ripped one of the sides off so I retinted them again and after a while they looked really ugly. So I ripped them off my self. I suggest to tint the white blinker (that is what I am planning on doing).

Only picture I have right now but here is a comparison. E60 tinted tails mine on left E60 normal LCI tails on right. I know you can't tell since they are both turned off but trust me BLAH. The tint makes the LCI rods DIM. And they look cheesy. Unless you can get a slight smoke tint I would not do it.

Nice new car btw .
