Hey guys, I recently went tot he local tint shop to get my windows tinted on my 28i. Well initially the guy tells me 425$ because he thinks my car is a 2011, so when I tell him its an 08 he goes 375$, supposedley because I HAVE to get carbon tint(watever that is) because it wont interfere with the signal for the navigation and so forth. So i just wanted to see if there was any validity to this. Im in Atlanta if any of you guys know someone who does it cheaper

The mixed or ceramic tints are definitely better for electronics/signals. However, your tail fin for example is on the outside of your car. You could put concrete on your windows and it won't impact that signal. What else would a metallic based tint block at that point? Your cell phone? your wifi device? Chances are you won't lose much signal to anything and there is certainly no requirement. The ceramic tints do cost more and should provide you a higher level of heat rejection.
