Here in UK to have your windows tinted is a little "Pimp My Ride"... and the cops would start getting interested!

Under EU regs anything darker than 35% (which is essentially the standard factory tint) within the front 180 degrees of vision i.e. windscreen and front sides is illegal. On the other hand the back and rear side windows can be painted black matt.

I have 20%(illegal) tint on my car, cant see in at all during the night,

you can see a figure during the day, but no real details..and thats when its really sunny.

Havent had any problems at all so far, however i do roll the windows down when i see a police officer looking my way...hehe

Here in EU you can order tint (and IR protection etc etc) from the factory.

A different application of the word "standard", I guess.
