Got my high gloss black trim and pillars setup today. I am going to get my rear windows tinted next week. I wanted to go with 5% rear. Is that way too dark? Considering I cannot tint any of the front windows (law). Plus the 5% might blend too much with the gloss black trim/pillars. Maybe a good thing? My E60 is also black and my goal was to totally black out the car.

Recommendations?

Thanks!

Doing a little more research to see if it is possible to tint front (driver/passenger) windows. Would be nice to have an all around tint instead of just the rear. Cause if I just do the rear maybe 15-20% would be better instead of 5%.

Many of our customers are going 35% on the front and have been lucky so far. Maybe only 2 in the last 6 years that I know of that have gotten tickets for it. I think the both of them went 20% on the fronts.

If you can get it, Huper Optik, Nano-Ceramic.

I live in NYC and the law is like 70 percent. It depends where you live. Like the cops here in the city dont pull you over anymore just for tints unless u break teh law some other way like a light or running a stop sign then theyll be like oh this plus nice tints u got here buddy. I have 20 percent all around, but my interior on my car is gray so its perfect it doesn't look pitch black.

I got 20% on my E60 with black interior and it looks pretty dark during the day. At night you can't see in at all. On my TL which has gray interior I have 20% and that looks pretty light during the day. I am in NY and have had no problem with the cops. If I were to do it again I would get 5% all around.

I use Formula One tints at 15% all around with 50% on the front window. Very happy with the color / quality. Hasn't faded at all in 1+ year so far. Looks mean, too. >
