I recommend you check with your local law requirements and make your decision accordingly. VA state law allows 50% on the front passenger windows and 35% on rear passenger and rear deck. I have huper optik ceramic in those %'s and think it looks just fine.

It comes down to personal choice and risk tolerance.

I just checked my tint at night... its not too dark. As far as getting fix-it tickets I happen to be law enforcement myself. =) I was more concerned with the overall look of my 5er. Does anyone know how much the tint lightens up after it cures?

I have the silver gray just like yours nerweezy. I have the let the tint completely cure then i can tell how light it actually is. Maybe 50% is too light.
I have 35% on my silver gray. I wouldn't go any lighter. My rears look darker because I have the shades up. I would have liked to put 20% on there, but didn't want the cops pulling me over.

Your guys cars look great. Im starting to really like my 35% it still looks light during the day and super clean. Its only a day old, so hopefully the tint lightens up just a bit more. I know im being picky but i just think that dark tint looks ghetto. Your guys cars look very classy.

I got 20% all around and 70% in the front, I like the look.
IMO, anything lighter than 35% doesn't really block much light, so if your purpose is try to keep the rear passengers comfy (got a toddler and baby), then I suggest to go darker
I love the front 70%, keep the heat out and yet it's hardly noticeable.

In the exact same boat as you are!

I've got 50% and very happy with it. It looks great with the highgloss shadowline trim and CB car. Perfect for my taste and doesn't draw attention of the police. Car's that I have been in with dark tint are great in the bright sun but for me the vision becomes too comprised on a dark rainy night. Could just be my "over 40" eyes. I also don't live in Arizona or Socal so don't face super hot temperatures. The 50% tint looks really different depending on the light - on a really bright day, you can tell they are tinted but they don't look dark - once the light is low in the sky or from certain angles they look much darker.

Alright... So after much debate I called the tint shop that orginally put on the 35% Llumar and told them to come out and re-do my car with 50% all around. They are not charging me for removal of the tint and giving me 20% off the re-install of the new tint. I guess im just being really picky! I'll post pics of both the 35% and 50% so we can all debate over my decision!

The legal maximum in TX is 32%. I would not go any lighter. I did 32% on the side and rear. The heat rejection during the day is good, and my visibility at night is fine.
