My Ride: 2006 Titanium Silver 550i, with all the bells and whistles!!
Thanks for all the votes and feedback, much appreciated. Looks like the PS2's are the way to go. Only category they don't seem to be a winner for is treadwear.
how many miles did you get out of your PS2's?

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S...no brainer. My car has the original Dunlop SP01 Runflats. I got 37K miles out of them and they have sucked the entire time. I am about to put on a set of Michelins. Discount Tire has them for $912 shipped to my door...after the $70 rebate from Michelin. My car will FINALLY drive and ride the way a BMW is suppose to!

The Pilot Sport A/S is an all season tire. The PS2 is a max summer performance tire. They are different tires. The high treadware rating belongs to the Pilot Sport A/S -- not the PS2. Both are highly regarded by most members here.
For a max summer performance tire bargain, go for the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo which has very smiliar performance to the PS2 in tire comparos but is half the price.

I just put 4 Sumitomo HTRZ-III on my 2006 530i Sport.
The car never had anything but OEM Dunlop RFTs previously.
They are really good, I just took a long trip with them and they're broken in now.
I had driven Sumitomo on my previous car (HTRZ-II) and never had a complaint with them.

I realize that...but unless you are on a track and pushing the car to the limits...the all season tire would do just fine. Personally, I'm not gonna give up twice the tread rating, smoother ride, and a quieter tire for extra performance that I might use 1% of the time...if that.
