I wanted to give a big thumbs up to Simon, (nomis_nehc) who installed a front camera in my 2008 550i this past Sunday morning. Since my garage is not very deep I was using a small plastic lighted stopsign which I had to nudge with my front bumper to let me know when to stop. I decided to go high tech so I ordered a front camera from Kris at modmynav.com. Simon did a quick clean install and the camera worked as described in the videos on the website. When I arrived home from the install I activated the camera and parked perfectly. Thanks much Simon.

Doh! I knew I should have taken pics. When I get my car back from the dealer I'll do so.

Would it be possible to do a front and rear camera?

Of course! Onetime saw the backup camera on my car afterwards, and thought maybe he should've just ordered it at the same time

Would you mind letting me know which camera's I should purchase and where I should buy this from? Also, if there are other items that I need to get. Maybe I can get it the same time you do my cluster!

The easiest would be to buy from Modmynav's kit for simplicity. Mo858 pieced together a kit that I was able to install, but it was not a fun process. Other parts had to be purchased, wires needed splicing and extending, overall, took a lot longer than Modmynav's kit. Additionally, the Modmynav's interface module operates a lot quicker than XCarlinks from what I have seen.

So check out Modmynav.com.
