Its funny, I have been looking on real oem and the E60M5, E39 5 series and 745 all have the wishbone frame which looks reinforced, and the E60's dont. On topic I have a clunking noise coming from my front but its not heard under hard steering or braking, but its there when going over uneven pavement or dips at slow speeds
What about if you brake quickly??? mine is really noticeable when i brake quickly.... for a very brief moment the steering wheels jerks, but the car doesn't pull. I just feel it in the steering wheel. And +1 on bumps at low speeds. If i cant get aftermarket, can the dealer just replace the bushings or do you guys think that i should replace the control arms too???

Most of the time when the bushings go out, the control arms are nearing their replacement time as well. At least this was the case with the previous 5er (e39). If I were in your shoes, I'd probably lean on replacing both control arms, but that's just me.

I was thinking..... Would it be cheaper for me to go through BMW newport, since they give a discount????? or will the parts be more expensive because they are a dealer?
Thanks

Get a quote from Garry, and don't forget about the 25% discount for E60.net members. Compare the price with BavAuto and your local dealer.

knic0007, any update on this issue? I'm just curious to hear what the resolution was.

I've got the same issue, whenever I brake I hear this clunking noise, was told by the SA that I have to replace bushings and a whole bunch of other stuff, he mentioned around 1K USD for the whole thing, does he wants to take me for a ride?
