Hi folks

I think I heard somewhere that this option can be added post-delivery. As I have a road-trip to Austria coming up next month with my skis, I would like to add this facility to the the car.

Any info would be most welcome.

Thanks

530d orient blue & grey leather w/satnav, bluetooth, run-flats, etc....

Love the car!

London,

Were am to retro fit a ski bag? I order my car without it and plan to retro fit one over the holidays. I'm in the mountains of Colorado and skiing is life up here! Not like Chamonix (which I miss like hell) but close.

If anyone else has done this, let me know. Eitherway, I'll make detailed instructions with suppliers and pics. My wife is nervous, but told her to look at my bachelors and my masters on the wall: I'm a scientist! I can do this.

Wish me luck!

The center rear arm rest can be retro fitted with two or three options. The ski bag is nothing more than an expanding canvas cover that would keep the cold in the trunk and not in the rear seating area. You can check for those options in the BMW magazine. I noticed two other options for the fold down arm rest: one looks like a magazine rack and the other has more coffee cup holders.

E60-530d-London,

Hello.
If it involves actually cutting through the steel into the trunk (which I think it does), then I wouldnt bother trying it. Imagine the complications that would arise. Such as resale value after having modified the frame of the car, and crash worthiness. Next, the cost of having to purchase new leather seats, seatbacks and a new front center armrest. $$$.
Why dont you just get the BMW ski rack for a few hundred bucks, then pull it off when your done your trip? Much easier!

I could be totally wrong...

cheers.
